Question of the Day:   Is it awful for me to miss winter?

It has been such a wonderful, beautiful summer filled with light, fun and things I have never done before. Places I have never been, food I have never tried, people I have never met. But in all the wonderful excitement, I feel in a way further from myself than ever, just kind of drifting. I don't know if this is normal, but it doesn't feel like a very cozy, safe place to me. It makes me feel like I can get swallowed up in this life, lost in an abyss of a nonsensical storm of small-talk and low expectations.

I miss the quiet of winter; the markedly fewer opportunities to be a social butterfly... the calm, the snow, the company, the tea, the dog, the books, the contemplation. I don't know why this tone appears more in winter, but I just miss it.... just sayin'

Quote About Women...

Haha I don't love LOVE her, but I love this:

“People say to me, ‘Growing up, you were this kind of woman, and now you’re that kind of woman.’ I think, ‘God, if you knew anything about women, you’d know we’re all things.’ That’s what makes a woman, truly.” Jolie pauses for a nanosecond, and when she drops her final line, I can hear her grin. “It’s usually not women who ask me that.”

The song today is Where Is My Mind, a song by the Pixies played on the piano. Amazing, but even more amazing set to rain.

A little thought...

“Amélie: The girl with the glass…maybe her thoughts are with somebody else.

Raymond Dufayel: Somebody in the picture?

Amélie: More likely a boy she saw somewhere and felt an affinity with.

Raymond Dufayel: You mean she’d rather imagine herself relating to an absent person than build relationships with those around her?

Amélie: Maybe she tries hard to fix other people’s messy lives.

Raymond Dufayel: What about her? Her own messy life? Who’ll fix that?

Amélie: It’s better to help people than a garden gnome.”

Lyrics of the Day: TSwift!

Come In With the Rain

I could go back to every laugh
But I don't want to go there anymore
And I know all the steps up to your door
But I don't want to go there anymore

Talk to the wind, talk to the sky
Talk to the man with the reasons why
And let me know what you find

I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
to call your name
Just know I'm right here hopin'
You'll come in with the rain

I could stand up and sing you a song
But I don't want to have to go that far and I
I've got you down, I know you by heart
And you don't even know where I start

Talk to yourself, talk to the tears
Talk to the man who put you here...
Don't wait for the sky to clear

I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
to call your name
Just know I'm right here hopin'
You'll come in with the rain

I've watched you so long
screamed your name
I don't know what else
I can say

But I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
for all these games
Just know I'm right here hopin'
You'll come in with the rain

I could go back to every laugh
But I don't want to go there
anymore..

and if you're wondering what the music sounds like...
